Welcome back! I hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend and we able to have some fun! A reminder that if you haven't not had a chance to purchase your child's Lasting Legacy's thumbprint plate, there is still time. You can do so in the office this week!
We have a fun filled week ahead... Reading: Our new sight words this week include he, away, must, no, by, there. We will be working on two sounds this week: /h/ and /k/. We will have both the sight word quiz and our spelling test on Friday because of the shorter week. We continue to read about animals and learn about their abilities. Religion: We will move forward with the Stations of the Cross and will focus on stations 5 to 7. It has been amazing to hear the children's thoughts as we learned about 1-4 last week. They have shown empathy for Jesus and Mary and a few have chimed in saying, "if I'd been there and seen Jesus, I'd help him carry his cross!" Friday our class will be in the church with Deacon Al to go through the full Stations of the Cross! Math: We will continue to practice with addition stories and creating number sentences working with equations up to 10. Our assessment will be on Thursday. Science: This week the students will plant their own seeds! Having learned all about the plant life cycle last week and with spring right about the corner, we thought this would be a fun and timely project. The students will observe and watch their seeds grow and keep a journal of the changes. Have a great week! Mrs. Zander
