I hope you all had a terrific break and enjoyed some relaxation and fun!
Here is what's in store for the week. Literacy: This week our theme is animals and animal habitats. We are focusing on the sound /b/ and will learn two new sight words: now, & are. We will continue to practice sounding out words focusing on middle sounds. We will touch on verbs in the past tense, matching the correct verb in various sentences. The students continue to practice using capitalization and punctuation in sentences and will be editing their writing assignments week as they write about their wishes for the new year. Religion: The students will revisit the Holy Trinity, and through a few stories, focus on God the Son: Jesus! The students will compare the way God’s message was shared in the past and how we share it in the present. Math: Topic; Ordinal numbers. This week we dive into sequencing and ordering using terms such as first, second, next, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and so on. The children will be sequencing and ordering in a variety of ways. We will graph their responses and discuss the results. We are blessed with another student in our class. A warm welcome to our new classmate Sean, and his family. We are happy to have him part of the K2 class! Here's to a great start to 2017!! I look forward to seeing you all soon! Mrs. Zander
