We had a great kick off to Read Across America and Dr. Suess' Birthday last week! This week we continue with the Dr. Seuss fun. We thank those of you that came to read in class this past week and look forward to the parents volunteering this week! There is no school on Friday, March 9 and Monday, March 12
Literacy: This weeks theme is growing up. As we approach the final quarter of kindergarten we look at the many things we've learned to do. The student's will brainstorm some of the things they couldnt do when they were younger, but now can do! Our texts this week include "Leo the Late Bloomer" and the "A Tiger Grows Up". Our letters this week are x and j. The new sight words are: said, was, then, good, ate, & could. The students did very well on their first spelling test this past week. Spelling words will be sent home tomorrow with a practice sheet for the week and we'll test this Thursday. Spelling words are: hat, red, men, top, kit Bonus word: where Religion: This week we focus on the 3rd week of Lent. The students will add another item to their prayer pot. We will also learn the next four stations to add to our Stations of the Cross book. Math: We will assess on our last lesson; adding with 10 frames up to 20. We start a new lesson on measurement this week and will have some fun measuring various items around the class with various manipulatives.
