Welcome back!! I hope that you all had a fantastic Easter week and enjoyed some much needed family time. I can't believe that we are down to the final 2 months of school.
This week will be a fun week back. Our first kindergarten retreat will be this Thursday. Thank you to those of you who've signed up to help out. I look forward to seeing you and know your kiddos will too! A peek at the week: Literacy: We will jump back into our groove and review all the sight words and letter sounds from this past unit. We will assess on the sight words at the end of the week. Our theme this week is growing things. Before break the students learned all about the plant life cycle, specifically looking at radishes. The students made some great observations and discoveries watching their plants grow and had some wonderful questions. One in particular was, "how does the soil get so healthy for the plant to grow?" Well, we will learn the answer this week and it's sure to be a wild and wiggly surprise, wink, wink!! Math: This week we begin a new lesson on subtraction. They will put their new skills to practice in some fun math centers. Religion: This week we will look at "life after death" listen to the Easter story and the days that followed Jesus' Resurrection. We will kick of the week learning about Divine Mercy Sunday , celebrated today and talk a bit about Saint Faustina. It's going to be a busy, but fun-filled week! I look forward to seeing all the kiddos back at school tomorrow!!
