Happy October! I have to start off by saying how proud I am of our class! We has been practicing a prayer in American Sign Language since the start of the year. The class did an amazing job!! We even had a student recording! Click on the button below to view. On to week 9:
Reading: The theme this week is all about helping. We will review our sight words I, like, and, the. The letter sound sound this week is /s/. We will continue to talk about verbs as well, recognizing them and pairing them with nouns. We continue to work in small groups during our literacy centers....this is one of the class's favorite times! Math: In math we review the terms bigger and smaller and touch on positional terms. The students will get some hands on time determining what objects and how many will fit in certain containers. We also well learn the the words before and after. Our chapter test will be on Friday. Religion: This week we will talk about sin and the importance of making the right choices. the children will help determine right or wrong choices at school, home, restaurants, etc. They will hear the scripture story of Adam and Eve and their Original Sin as well as the story of a woman who made the wrong choice....but the happy ending with all these stories is that Jesus always forgives! A few reminders... The October snack calendar we posted last week and can be found under the Calendar tab. And, Homework starts this week! You will receive all the important information in this week's Red Folder. There will be a note attached explaining the homework expectations and assignments.
