I hope that all of you had a nice weekend.
A few reminders and updates: Library is tomorrow so please help your child remember to bring their library book in the morning. Also please continue to send a snack and your child's water bottle to class each day. With Fr. Pete's passing last week there are a few school schedule changes. There will be no school mass on Wednesday, Sept 20. Thursday will be an early dismissal at 1:00 and for the older siblings 1:10, and 1:20. And Friday the school will be closed for the funeral taking place at 10:00. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or the front office. Lastly, a warm welcome to our K2 homeroom moms, Kristen Aragon is the mother of Bliss Aragon and Jennifer (Jenny) Schroeder is the mother of Cami Schroeder. They will be keeping you up to date on our fun classroom celebrations and ways to be involved this year. Stay tuned for lots of fun opportunities! See the Homeroom Tab for current news from them! We have lots of fun learning this week. Literacy: Our theme is jobs, we will be focusing on the sound /m/, and our new high frequency word is and. In grammar we will be learning about present tense verbs. Our stories this week are Pizza at Sally's and Everybody Works. Religion: We will wrap up our lesson on the 10 Commandments. The children will illustrate the 10 commandments in pairs and present their commandment to the class. We will have our religion quiz Wednesday. Math: This week the students will learn about composing and decomposing numbers 1-10. We will have some fun with partners and various counters to visualize the numbers. Social Studies: We tie in our theme of jobs from our literacy lesson and discuss the difference between needs and wants. We will discuss different jobs and services. See you this week! Mrs. Zander
