So great to see so many of you at the Harvest Festival! Thank you to all of you who were part of the event in one way or another! We had a very busy and fun week in store!! Today we had some fun with pumpkins. we explored different types, studied the different sizes and colors, explored the insides, compared the seed sizes. Pictures posted soon! If your child has completed their October book list, return it to school this week. When they are returned I will attach a coupon for a free personal pan pizza! Keep and eye out for the November homework calendar that will go home Tuesday. Here is a look at what we'll be learning this week: Reading: Our reading theme this week is about wheels and how they help us. The sight word is "to" and we will be learning the /p/ sound. We will also talk about numbers as adjectives. Math: The students will review flat shapes and learn about solid shapes. We will learn the terms face, edge, and corner. Religion: We will be preparing for our Litany of the Saints as well as learn about the saints through the students' saint reports. Science: We will talk about force and pushes and pulls. The students will be able to explore these topics through cars and ramps. Social Studies: we will look at different types of transportation used many years ago. Don't forget that on Wednesday, November 2nd we are having the Litany of the Saints in the courtyard. We will begin at 8:15 so please join us for this special celebration. I can't wait to see all the kids dressed up in their saint costumes!! Saint reports are due on Wednesday as well. Also, the school wide All Saint's Day Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 (Instead of the typical Wednesday mass)!
