Just a reminder that this week is early dismissal at 11:50 due to parent/ teacher conferences. I can't wait to meet with each of you and share your child's strengths and goals for the remaining part of the year. I can't believe we are a 1/3 of the way through the school year! This week is a busy but fun one! Literacy: This week's theme is shapes. We will hear two creative stories: "David's Drawing's" and "Mouse Shapes". We will review the 7 high frequency words we've learned so far; to, the, and, a , see, we, & I. We will also practice and master our letter sounds; m, s, t, a, c, & p. This practice will be great review to lead into our unit assessment next week. This week's centers will be fun, hands-on applications of word blending, adjectives for size and shape, and story recall and writing! Math: We dive into a new chapter this week sharing a similar focus as literacy: shapes. We will find various shapes in our surroundings. The students will hear vocabulary such as face, edge, and side and identify the shape names including 2 dimensional shapess too! Religion: This week is all about forgiveness. The students will learn what forgiveness looks like and that saying "I'm sorry" is only part of asking for forgiveness; we must make changes in our actions to show that we truly are sorry too! We will hear the story of the prodigal son and a story of Jesus' forgiveness and healing. A few other important pieces of information. This Friday is our Veteran's Day ceremony at 830. If you have any family members that you would like to include in this day, please let Mrs. Butler know at [email protected]. Students can wear a red, white, blue, or camo shirt with their uniform on this special day. See below for details on the upcoming Mother and Son outing!
