A few reminders:
Please help your child remember to bring their library book to school tomorrow if they haven't already! Also, I sent home two scholastic book order forms last week. I'll be sending these out a few times over the course of the year. Please remember to use the code (found on top of the form) if you choose to order books. Our class receives points for each purchase and eventually free books! These purchases allow our class to build a more extensive library that fits the various reading levels in class! Please contact me with any questions:) As for our week: Reading: In reading this week our theme is school. The students will hear a few different stories: Friends at School and How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? We will also learn our new sight word "like." These past few weeks we have focused on rhyming words...with similar ending sounds. This week we will practice recognizing sounds heard at the beginning of words. The students will also learn more about nouns and more specifically, nouns that identify places. We will also learn what an antonym is and come up with examples. We will focus on learning to write ad recognize P, Q, R, S, and T this week. Math: This week the students will take an assessment over both previous chapters 1 and 2. We will follow with chapter 3 focusing on size (short, long, tall, big, small). This is a short chapter so we will have our chapter assessment on Friday. Religion: This week is all about the Ten Commandments. The students will hear the story of how Moses received the commandments and we will learn how we can follow those commandments in our own lives. We will end the lesson with an fun art project! Review questions will be attached this week.
