Welcome back!
A reminder that tomorrow is library for our class. If your child hasn't returned their library book yet, please help them remember to bring it so they can check out a new one! Here's a glimpse at our week: Reading: The theme for our week will be pets. We will hear I Have a Pet! and Please, Puppy, Please. Our new high frequency word is "the" and we will wrap up our review of the alphabet, practicing U-Z. In grammar we continue to build our understanding of nouns. We will focus on nouns for things and animals. Make sure to be reviewing our high frequency words at home! Math: We will finish up our chapter on numbers 1-10 with an assessment this week. Then we move into a lesson on ordering things by size, weight, and length. We will end the week with an assessment on that too! Religion: This week we will be learning all about the Ten Commandments. We begin with the story of Moses. We will discuss how to live out the commandments in our own lives. This Wednesday, our first quarter progress reports will go out. You will be able to access this using RenWeb. As I mentioned at curriculum night, our grading scale is comprised of three letter grades: M for mastering, D for developing, and E for emerging. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me! Have a great week! Mrs. Zander
