We spent last week getting to know one another, familiarizing ourselves with the classroom, and adjusting to our daily routines. Now, this week we are ready to dive right in to our reading, math, and religion curriculum! Reading: In reading this week, we will focus on letters A-E. We will practice writing both the capital and lowercase letters, recognize the sounds that each make, and find the letters throughout text. We will read a few fun nursery rhymes while listening for patterns and similar endings in rhyming words. Math: The class will focus on numbers 1-3 and understand pairs, similarities, and differences. We will also continue our review of colors. Religion: We will learn about the Blessed Trinity; God is three persons in one. We will talk about Saint Patrick and how he taught people about the Trinity using a shamrock. We will learn the Glory Be prayer and pray it in class and continue our practice of making the sign of the cross. We started a few of our specials last week including music, library and P.E.(a class favorite!). These will continue this week, in addition to Spanish. It's sure to be a fun and busy week! On a final note, I'll be sending home information regarding our class discipline plan. The students and I will be going over it in class, so feel free to ask them about it at home too! Have a wonderful week! Mrs. zander
