Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.
Here's a peek at our week... Literacy: This week our them is growing up. We will hear a few stories about animals growing, as well as thinking about ourselves growing. This students will compare and contrast skills they didn't have as young children to what they can do now! We will focus on the sounds /j/ and /x/. The students will also learn 6 more sight words: said, was, then, could, ate, could. Word list will be sent home Monday to study for quiz on Friday. This students are really working hard on their sight words and its noticeable!! :) Please continue to let your child read the take home readers from school and send them back to school once they read them fluently, so they can get a new one! Math: We will review our chapter on measurements and move into comparing sets. We will have an assessment on Friday. Religion: This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. In class we will discuss the season of Lent that starts Wednesday and takes us to Easter. We will learn how to prepare our hearts for this special time and create some special pieces to share at home. Ash Wednesday mass will be at 10:00am. Please feel free to join us! This Thursday is Dr. Seuss birthday, but since the start to Lent falls this week, we will have belated celebration next week. I would love to have a few parents visit our class throughout the week and read a favorite Dr. Seuss book. I will be sending out a signup genius with a few time slots...stay tuned! Thank you and have a great week! Mrs. Zander
