Less than 3 weeks till spring break! Where has this year gone?
This week is exciting for our kindergartners as some of them are participating in our two school courtyard prayers and Wednesday school mass. This is one of two opportunities the kiddos get to participate in courtyard prayer and mass....and therefore a big deal for them! It will be fun to see them shine. And if you didn't hear from me about your child's part this round, you will in May! Literacy: This week we will start start off with our unit 5 test on Monday. The rest of the week will be focused around the new lesson's theme of "trying our best". We will read a few stories that focus on this theme and discuss how we feel when we achieve something ourselves. We will also learn about our last vowel, U, and practice both the long and short sounds. In grammar we will practice using singular and plural nouns and look at the plural ending: -es and -s. Math: The students really showed their understanding of addition on their test this past Friday...they did great!! This week we move forward with subtraction using numbers 1-5. Religion: We will wrap up or stations this week with 12, 13, and 14. The students continue to show such reverence as we move through each of the stations. The books they have created will be a neat way share the Stations of the Cross with you at home. This past Friday we talked about the 4th Sunday in Lent and the students we asked to place a small piece of bread or cracker in their prayer pots. This next week (5th Sunday) they will add a band aid. Thank you to so many of you that are keeping up with the prayer pots, praying with your children, and asking them to tell you about each week's item. The children get very excited at school to receive the next piece! Have a great week! Ps. The April Snack Calendar is posted!
