Families,
Thank you again for making time to attend curriculum night this past week. It was so great to chat with so many of you. For those of you that couldn't make it, the power point and a few notes regarding the presentation will be posted this week under Resources. Thank you to all of you for lending a "hand" and donating to our class supplies. I am overwhelmed by your support and generosity and feel so blessed to be part of an amazing K2 community! Here is a look at our week: Reading: This week we dive into our first week of reading. The theme is families! We will read two new stories that tell about families and discuss sequence and summarization of the texts. The children will be introduced to their first sight word, "I". They will also work on letters K and L, writing both the capital and lowercase letters and continue review on A-J. We will also discuss nouns within relation to families and continue honing our skills in rhyming and counting syllables. Math: We continue with our number practice moving on to numbers 6-10. The students are becoming more and more familiar with 10 frames as we count our days in school and we will counting to build on this skill this week. Religion: This week we will continue to learn about creation. The students are familiar with the sequence of The Creation Story and continue to practice as we build a keepsake book that will help them share the story at home! We will journal about God's blessing of our families and write/draw about a favorite family activity! Lastly, the September snack calendar will be posted tomorrow under the Calendar link. Hope you all had a great weekend!
