Hello October!
A few dates to keep in mind this week:
Literacy: Our new theme this week is our 5 senses. We'll focus on the short /a/ sound and learn another high frequency word: see. We are up to 5 words so far (I, like, the, and , & see). We will begin to break down sounds in works and recognize sound patterns. In grammar we review our action verbs from the past few weeks and then learn about sensory words. Our books this week are, Listen, Listen & My Five Senses. Math: This week we continue to build our number sense and practice composing and decomposing. We will have a few fun hands on games and centers to make the learning even more fun! Religion: The lesson we start learning about Creation. We will be discussing all the things God has made and understand that they are gift form Him. As mentioned, this Friday we will say an all school rosary in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. The students have been saying a decade each day and getting very good at it! I encourage you sometime this month, to pray a decade of the rosary as a family. Let your child lead it and share some special prayers with each other if you don't do so already! “If families give Our Lady fifteen minutes a day by reciting the Rosary, I assure them that their homes will become, by God’s grace, peaceful places.” --Fr. Patrick Peyton Science: All about our senses!! Having used out sense of taste for our apple sampling, we'll some on and focus on our 4 other senses through some fun exploration!! Have a great week!
