Welcome back, we have lots of fun in store this week!
Literacy: Our theme is jobs and we'll focus on two stories this week Pizza at Sally's and Everybody Works. We'll focusing on the sound /m/, and our new high frequency word is and. In grammar we will be learning about verbs and practice using them in sentences. Religion: This week we'll put all the prayers we've been practicing to good use and introduce praying a decade Rosary. The students will discover that God gave us an important job when he created us! He made us to love others and we'll discuss the many ways that we can show our love to those around us. Math: This week we'll continue our math centers and wrap up our chapter on ordering things by size. Social Studies: We will expand on our theme of jobs through reviewing different types of jobs and the actions associated with them. We'll read the story, Night Worker and compare and contrast jobs during the day and night. Science: With fall right around the corner we will have some fun with apples. The students will have lots of fun this week using their senses and studies apples in a variety of ways. Here is the Signup Genius link with a list of items to help in the student's discovery! Any help is appreciated! This week we'll be sampling apples and a few others apple items. The sign up will include red/yellow/green apples, apple sauce, apple cider and apple butter/jam. If you would prefer your child to not sample any of the items this week please email by Wednesday. I'll send out a picture of item's ingredients once I receive them. Thanks for your help with this!
